COMPREHENSIVE FOOD SECURITY AND NUTRITION SURVEY (CFSNS)

Our leadership provides consultative support for Liberia’s Comprehensive Food Security and Nutrition Survey, a nationally significant initiative designed to assess the current state of food security and nutrition across all 15 counties and Greater Monrovia. Drawing on a nationally representative sample, the survey enables in-depth analysis of malnutrition prevalence among children, adolescents, and women; evaluates IYCF practices; and assesses access to essential health-promoting services and resources. It also provides an updated understanding of food-insecure populations, estimating their size and distribution, and examines dietary patterns, coping strategies, and the impact of agricultural shocks. By ensuring methodological rigor and aligning multi-agency contributions, the initiative generates high-quality data and actionable insights to inform national priorities, strengthen institutional capacities, and support evidence-based policymaking and program development.
This project is led by the Ministry of Agriculture in collaboration with a multi-agency consortium—including UNICEF, WFP, FAO, and LISGIS.
CAUSAL ANALYSIS OF ANAEMIA AMONG CHILDREN UNDER-FIVE IN FORCIBLY DISPLACED MYANMAR NATIONALS CAMPS, COX’S BAZAR

We are dedicated to addressing critical health challenges through meticulous research and collaboration. One of our key projects involves assessing the extent to which nutritional and non-nutritional factors cause anemia among Rohingya children aged 6-59 months in Forcibly Displaced Myanmar Nationals (FDMN) camps in Cox's Bazar. In partnership with UNICEF, the Government of Bangladesh (GoB), UNHCR, and WFP, we design and implement a comprehensive study to analyze:
- Nutritional indicators
- Non-nutritional indicators
- Indicators of infection and inflammation
Our biomarker testing includes hemoglobin, serum transferrin, serum ferritin, complete blood count (CBC), vitamin B12, folate, total iron-binding capacity (TIBC), beta-thalassemia, C-reactive protein (CRP), and alpha-1-acid glycoprotein (AGP).
This project, led by UNICEF Bangladesh, is being implemented across 33 FDMN camps in Ukhiya and Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar.
FY24 ANNUAL SURVEY, THAILAND REGIONAL AGRICULTURE INNOVATION NETWORK (RAIN)

RISE International leads the FY24 Annual Survey for RAIN, assessing progress toward key Food for Progress (FFPr) outcome indicators. Through a participant-based census of all farmers, we collect critical data on:
- Crop yield
- Technology application
- Access to finance
- Sales and market engagement
- Adoption of RAIN-promoted climate-smart innovations (CSi)
In addition to surveys, we conduct in-depth interviews with farmers purchasing CSi, as well as firms and buyers/sellers within the cassava and rice value chain. By analyzing farmer characteristics, production methods, and marketing practices, we generate comprehensive farmer profiles to inform decision-making and program improvements.
RAIN is funded by USDA and implemented by Winrock International, Michigan State University and Kasetsart University
EVALUATION OF THE SUPPORTING HEALTH ADVANCES FOR RURAL EMPLOYEES (SHARE) PROJECT

RISE International leads the evaluation of the SHARE project in Chicot, Phillips, St. Francis, and Lake Village Counties, Arkansas, aiming to promote Total Worker Health. The project provides targeted support to employees, employers, clinical staff, nurses, and Community Health Workers in the region. Our evaluation includes:
- Focus groups with employees to gather insights on workplace health initiatives
- In-depth interviews with employers and employees to assess workplace experiences
- Stakeholder data collection from key organizations, including health centers in the Delta
The evaluation will determine whether employers have successfully implemented evidence-based health promotion strategies to enhance employee health and well-being.This USDA funded project is implemented by the US Programs Winrock and consortium partners including, New York Institute of Technology–College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYITCOM-Arkansas), and Community Health Centers of Arkansas (CHCA).
REVIEW OF ACUTE MALNUTRITION SITUATION, TRENDS AND MANAGEMENT CAPACITY IN LAC

RISE International Consulting, in collaboration with UNICEF LACRO, conducted a comprehensive review of acute malnutrition (wasting) in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). Our work includes:
- Analyzing prevalence and trends of wasting using Joint Child Malnutrition Estimates (JME) across 37 LAC countries.
- Mapping national protocols against WHO 2023 guidelines to assess gaps in wasting management.
- Conducting qualitative research with key stakeholders to understand existing policies, surveillance systems, and implementation challenges.
- Identifying disparities in malnutrition across subnational regions, indigenous communities, and vulnerable populations.
- Providing policy recommendations to strengthen data collection, update protocols, and improve evidence-based interventions.
Our findings support regional efforts to enhance malnutrition management, improve equity, and align policies with global standards. The project is funded by UNICEF's Latin America and the Caribbean Regional Office (LACRO), which operates in 36 countries and territories across the region to strengthen child nutrition and health outcomes.
REGIONAL AGRICULTURE INNOVATION NETWORK (RAIN) - BASELINE EVALUATION

At RISE International Consulting, we are dedicated to fostering sustainable agriculture through the implementation of baseline evaluations for projects like RAIN. Funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), the RAIN project identifies, validates, scales, and shares Climate Smart Innovations (CSi) and practices for six value chain commodities—rice, cassava, mangosteen, longan, coconut, and durian—across 11 provinces in Thailand. Our mixed-method evaluation includes:
- Farmer surveys to assess adoption and impact of climate-smart practices
- In-depth interviews with farmers and key stakeholders to gather qualitative insights
