Capacity Strengthening & Training

With our tailored approaches, we build and strengthen the capacity of local organizations, government institutions, and professionals to foster lasting ownership, empowerment, and evidence-based decision-making.

RISE International's capacity strengthening activities span two complementary areas. For data and research capacity, we provide training and facilitation in designing data collection tools, computer-assisted personal interview (CAPI) programming, sampling, survey data analysis, data utilization, and policy briefs. For international technical training, we design and deliver structured learning programs for mid- to senior-level professionals from government, the private sector, NGOs, and research institutions — grounded in adult learning principles and supported by rigorous M&E to ensure measurable, lasting impact.

RISE International designs and delivers technical training programs for mid- to senior-level professionals from government, the private sector, NGOs, and research institutions in developing countries. Grounded in adult learning principles, our programs feature culturally responsive content, structured M&E frameworks, and individual learning outcome plans to achieve measurable knowledge and behavior change. We coordinate all logistical elements of international exchange programs — from transportation and accommodation to site visits and cross-cultural programming — supported by lead trainers with subject-matter expertise and proven experience facilitating learning for diverse, multilingual professional audiences. 

Questionnaire design workshops cover the structure and layout of questionnaire, including logical sequencing of questions, order of questions, order of response options, wording and type of questions (demographic questions; knowledge, attitude, and practice questions; behavioral questions, hypothetical questions or vignettes; sensitive questions), and corresponding response categories. We cover the common memory and recall errors and how to avoid them in designing the survey questionnaire.

Our M&E workshop covers core components of monitoring and evaluation, including the theory of change, results framework, detailed logic chain models, performance indicators, data collection and analysis; reporting and dissemination for stakeholders and partners; and learning and adapting.

We provide CAPI training workshops using Census and Survey Processing System (CSPro) software for tablet-based data collection. In addition, we also provide workshops and training courses on sampling, data analysis, and data utilization.
